Adventures don’t always have to be big or far away. Sometimes it’s about small shifts that we consciously or unconsciously do. Like trying different things such as new food, sitting in a new restaurant or new coffee shop. It can also be exploring a new street in our city or town or taking a different route to work, journaling differently, doing a different exercise. Or even starting a conversation with a stranger.
These littles things of life that can be insignificant but powerful in a way to expand ourselves out of comfort. When we hear the word adventure, most of us picture something big. Like traveling across the world, climbing a mountain, or diving into the unknown. But what if I told you adventure can also be found in the small, everyday choices we make?
I’ve noticed that those moments aren’t always the big leaps, but the tiny steps I didn’t expect. Like which route I’m gonna take to go to the gym and stumble across a mural painting written “You create your reality”. Or going to work tired and bumped into a message just for me on a lamp post saying “You can do it”. Trying a new swimming pool and ended up in a conversation that reminded me how much connection is always within reach.
You don’t need money
These experiences didn’t cost money, didn’t take much time, and yet expanded my world. They brake the rhythm of routine and reminded me that life is full of hidden treasures. Treasures of life waiting to be uncovered. This is not always about money or distance. It’s about perspective. It’s about choosing curiosity over comfort, openness over autopilot.
At work I love making connections with strangers. Because I love being curious about people. So I often start conversations and don’t expect them to buy anything. I choose genuine connection above everything, even if they don’t buy anything. I deliberately choose to speak to people I wouldn’t normally. Because we are all unique and always excited about what can I learn from them.
I intentionally go for long distance walks in solitude without music. To simply pause and reflect and see my surrounding with fresh eyes. It doesn’t cost anything right?
Stretching out of your comfort zone
I always say nothing will happen in your comfort zone. The real power of adventures lives in the small choices we make every day. It doesn’t require passport. Few years ago I used to find myself into a routine I didn’t like. Until I implemented rituals that are slightly different each day. But not always the same, in order to avoid boredom or lassitude. Waking up early stretched me out of my comfort zone, and getting ready for exercise.
Very little intentional choices foster personal growth and resilience. However comfort zone limits potential for learning and new experiences. Sometimes we have unexpected things that show up, unexpected plan unfolding or things that don’t turn as we wish they would be. It’s resisting the flow of life and I believe the unexpected is when the magic of life happen.
My experience
Staying in the comfort zone is a killer for Human’s potential. 10 years ago in 2015 this was the life I cherished. I didn’t want to to different things to test or to taste. I felt like I had no choice and this life was meant to be. My life outside school was just staying home watching TV, eating junk food, scrolling and sleeping until late. Living a life without unlocked potential but knew deep inside myself to be destined for a great life. But didn’t know how to take the first step. I had so many insecurities to be challenged. Nothing to compare today. Until I figured out it’s time to work in turning my dream to move to London into a reality.
Now I pursue a career in coaching and content creation. I’ve learned a lot about myself like never before and deeply know my purpose and my mission. In taking small aligned actions, because change doesn’t happen overnight.

A coaching reflection for you
What small adventure can you create today?
When was the last time you tried something new?
What does adventure mean to you?
How do you normally respond to unexpected moments? Do you resist them or embrace them?
What would your life look like if you welcomed more “micro-adventures” into your everyday world?
Because every small adventure plants the seed of possibility. And from those seeds, the bigger adventure grow and rise.
